Consequences of not completing GMCS within 1 year of Articleship

As per ICAI rules, if a student fails to complete GMCS-1 within 1 year, the articleship period will be extended to that extent, upto which the delay continues.

But practically, there are many cases where nothing as stated above happened.

So, students should complete the GMCS in time. If it gets late, then don't worry.

GMCS-2 Course details, Fee, Registration  and Due date:

Eligibility:

• Has registered for Articleship Training on or after 1st May, 2012
• Has completed GMCS-1 during first 12 Months of Articleship training.
• Presently serving practical training between 19th and 36th Month

Duration: 15 days

Fee: Rs.5,500 (May be less in few cities)

Clarification regarding GMCS-2 completion date:

It is brought to the attention of ICAI that many students are not aware regarding the due date to complete GMCS-2. It is hereby clarified that, students can complete their GMCS-2 course even after clearing their CA Final exams. The rule regarding GMCS-2 is that, by the time a CA Student applies for Membership in ICAI, they must have completed this course.

Students are advised to register at the portal www.icaionlineregistration.org or contact the nearest Regional Council/Branch for registration in GMCS-I Course and GMCS-2 course..

The fee for GMCS-2 cannot exceed Rs.5,500

GMCS-1 DD in Favour of:

The Demand Draft for GMCS shall drawn in favour of the Regional Office. For example, Student registering for GMCS under WIRC Region shall Draw a DD in Favour of “WESTERN INDIA REGIONAL COUNCIL,”payable, at Mumbai.

Similary, Students from Southern Region shall Draw DD in Favourof "Southern India Regional Council" Payable at chennai.

General Management & Communication Skills Course is 15 days full time course introduced to equip the entrants to the profession with interpersonal and management skills.  What is the eligibility for attending GMCS Course?

 (i) A student who has passed Intermediate / Professional Education (Examination – II) and registered in Final Course and either has completed practical training or is serving last 12 months of practical training is eligible to undergo the course. What is the exception for the students who attend Four Weeks Residential Programme?

What is the fee structure for attending GMCS Course? 

The fees for attending GMCS Course shall not exceed Rs.5500/- per student (w.e.f. 1st July, 2013) on non-residential basis inclusive of course and study materials. The fee structure does not apply to Dubai Overseas Office. icaionlineregistration.org sircoficai

Is GMCS Course organized during weekends?
